Scenes for the movie "heartless" in live action

For heartless I was hired to plan some of the visual effects scenes in the film. There were 4 scenes in total, in which the characters would interact with 3D elements and visual effects, and would even be underwater, in addition to having a life-size whale prop.

Because of this, the final board treatment needed extra attention to light and shadow, and to how the characters and these effects/objects would relate to the space and to each other. At first, there was even a scene (58) where the characters would enter inside the whale, so it was also necessary to understand what this construction would look like from the inside (unfortunately, this scene was cut).

The directors, Nara and Tião, already had a pre-decoupage, establishing some shots. So, my work was very close and collaborative with them. For each scene, we would meet and think through the framing together.

I would first create them as digital thumbnails, establishing the cameras and framing, and then develop a more refined treatment of light, contrast, and composition, like a concept.
